Julie was 35 years old and on her 8th IUI when we began filming in New Jersey. Growing up as a lesbian, Julie knew she'd never have a child traditionally. But being a mother was something Julie had always envisioned. After moving back home to Michigan, Julie started a new relationship with Elizabeth, who supported Julie's maternal desires. Although Julie hasn't had her baby yet, she found a life partner in Elizabeth whom she's been dating for three years. They recently moved to Missouri to pursue jobs in health care.
